The Parkcycle Experience
Operated in Partnership with the Royal Parks
Parkcycle is Richmond Park's Cycling Centre located at the Roehampton Gate car park. A range of both off and on road bicycles are available for hire by the hour from the centre enabling you to enjoy the unique environment of Richmond Park.
We cater for adults, children, experienced and novice cyclists and can offer expert advice on how to see the best of the park whilst enjoying the benefits of some healthy exercise!
We also offer special arrangements for groups, schools and community linked projects.
The park has specifically designated off road pathways and routes enabling you to enjoy safe and traffic free cycling. It also offers a variety of terrain, points of interest and high quality visitor facilities such as cafes and restaurants.
The bikes available are all of a high standard and supplied by leading manufacturers. The trail bikes have been specially selected for the purpose and are all geared and easily handleable.
We also encourage parents to come along and bring their children – we have baby seats that can be attached to the trail bikes and also "tag alongs" for the bigger children! Of course there is also a full range of children specific bikes in various sizes.
For those who want to join the hundreds of cyclists that use the road circuit we have a selection of top quality road bikes in various sizes too!
Parkcycle also provides some essential cycle accessories, refreshments and energy gels/drinks from the Roehampton Parkcycle centre. Specifically if you need cycle accessories, tools, inner tubes, tyres or even a new helmet please have a look at our range.
General Park Information
At 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres) it is the biggest open space in London and is still a place where people can escape the crowds, find tranquil ponds for fishing and to watch the birds and deer.
The park is now a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and is frequented by walkers, runners and cyclists with a variety of trails.
It is a unique place and remains as impressive as ever; protected by its status as a National Nature Reserve (NNR); a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
